The Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence

Forsyth Tech is honored to be invited to apply for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, a national recognition given only to the top 200 community colleges in the country. This invitation reflects a rigorous review of student success, completion and the many ways a college opens doors for learners from all backgrounds. Being included in this group affirms work that has been years in the making and was the backbone of Vision 2025. Our work to strengthen support systems, expand access to high-quality programs, and ensure that every student has a real chance to reach their goals is not done yet, but Forsyth Tech has made outstanding progress since 2019: essentially eliminating achievement gaps and more than doubling completion rates (from 19% to 45%).

This moment is a powerful signal that Forsyth Tech’s commitment to opportunity, belonging and strong outcomes is making a measurable difference. It also positions us to learn from other high-performing colleges across the nation as we continue to grow.
