Forsyth Tech CARES continued to expand its impact from July 2024 through June 2025, advancing the college’s mission to remove barriers and ensure that every student has the support needed to rise, thrive and lead. Since its founding in March 2020, Forsyth Tech CARES has served more than 3,500 students through a holistic network of programs and services addressing food, housing, transportation and financial insecurity. During the past year, the college deepened this work by strengthening community partnerships, growing its on-campus supports, and increasing awareness of available resources.
The college now operates seven on-campus pantries, ensuring students across multiple locations have access to nutritious food and essential items. These spaces have become vital sources of relief and connection, helping students meet immediate needs so they can focus on academic success. The pantries’ continued success reflects both the generosity of community partners and the college’s commitment to student success and well-being.
In 2024–2025, Forsyth Tech CARES also hosted seasonal farmer’s markets, bringing fresh, locally grown produce directly to students, faculty and staff. These events not only improved access to healthy food but also promoted wellness across campus. The markets have grown into a community tradition, drawing broad participation and reinforcing Forsyth Tech’s culture of care.

The Student Parent Advocacy Resource Center – launched to meet the unique needs of parenting students – continued to expand its reach this year. The center provides academic, financial and emotional support tailored to the realities of balancing college, work and family responsibilities. Through workshops, individualized assistance and connections to community resources, the center is helping student parents persist and complete their programs with confidence and stability.
Financial support remained another cornerstone of the CARES program. Through Finish Line Grants and other emergency funding, students facing unexpected crises received help covering transportation costs, housing expenses or other immediate needs that could otherwise derail their education. These funds, provided in partnership with the North Carolina Community College System and local agencies, continue to be a lifeline for many Trailblazers.

Collectively, these efforts embody Forsyth Tech’s unwavering promise to place students first – meeting them where they are, addressing their needs with compassion and integrity, and empowering them to achieve their goals.
