Grady P. Swisher Center

Mazie S. Woodruff Aviation Technology Lab
Located adjacent to the Smith Reynolds Airport, the Mazie S. Woodruff Aviation Technology Lab is Forsyth Tech’s gateway to one of the fastest-growing, highest-paying career fields. This 52,000-square-foot facility includes a full-size hangar, advanced classrooms and state-of-the-art labs where students train on real aircraft. The lab is home to programs in aviation maintenance and avionics technology, preparing graduates for Federal Aviation Administration certification and careers with airlines, repair stations and aerospace companies. The Aviation Technology Lab stands out because students don’t just learn theory – they work hands-on with engines, electrical systems and aircraft components. Transportation Technology Center
Forsyth Tech’s Transportation Technology Center is where the region’s future technicians, mechanics and engineers get their start. The 139,000-square-foot facility houses state-of-the-art bays, classrooms and labs, all designed to replicate real-world repair shops and service centers. Here, students gain hands-on experience in automotive repair, diesel maintenance, motorcycle service, collision and refinishing, and even race car technology. The Richard Childress Race Car Technology program sets this campus apart, offering students a one-of-a-kind chance to train in the skills needed for motorsports careers. The Center also recently expanded to meet the growing demand for skilled diesel technicians, adding dedicated labs, a custom hoist system, and specialized training spaces. By working directly with engines, heavy machinery and vehicles, students graduate ready to fill high-demand roles in industries that keep our economy moving. Mazie S. Woodruff Center
The Mazie S. Woodruff Center in Northeast Winston-Salem is more than a campus –it’s a community hub. Named after Mazie S. Woodruff, the first Black woman elected to the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, the center carries forward her legacy of service, empowerment and opportunity. It provides accessible college-level courses, workforce training and personal enrichment programs tailored to the needs of local residents. Students can earn credits toward degrees, gain practical job skills, or simply explore new areas of interest, all within their own neighborhood. Northwest Forsyth Center
Located in King, the Northwest Forsyth Center is Forsyth Tech’s home for public safety and technical training in a rural setting. The 40,000-square-foot facility features specialized labs, classrooms and equipment designed for hands-on instruction. Here, students train for careers as firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs, nursing assistants and industrial technicians. Programs in criminal justice and technical trades create a direct pipeline to careers that support and protect our communities. What makes the Northwest Forsyth Center unique is the combination of academic programs with real-world training environments, giving students the skills and confidence to step into high-demand roles immediately. By situating these opportunities in King, Forsyth Tech ensures that residents of northern Forsyth County and surrounding areas do not need to travel far to prepare for rewarding careers. West Campus
The West Campus, located on Bolton Street in Winston-Salem, is Forsyth Tech’s center for workforce development and continuing education. It is where adults from all backgrounds can reskill, retrain and reimagine their futures. Programs at West Campus are designed for flexibility, with day, evening and weekend classes that fit busy schedules. Offerings include workforce retraining, professional development, technical certifications, adult high school and GED programs and personal enrichment workshops. The campus helps displaced workers gain new skills, provides certifications for career advancement and opens doors to lifelong learning for community members of all ages. West Campus is also home to industry partnerships that connect students directly to employers, ensuring that the training they receive translates into meaningful job opportunities. By focusing on accessibility and relevance, West Campus plays a critical role in helping Winston-Salem’s workforce stay competitive in a changing economy while offering residents a welcoming place to pursue their educational goals.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the gymnasium and locker rooms at West Campus underwent a significant restoration to prepare for Forsyth Tech’s first women’s volleyball and men’s basketball games, which will be held in the fall of 2025.
Forsyth Tech Stokes County Center
The Forsyth Tech Stokes County Center in Walnut Cove brings higher education to the heart of Stokes County. Opened in 2016, the modern facility offers both curriculum and continuing education programs, ensuring residents have access to training that leads directly to careers. The campus is also home to Stokes Early College, where high school students can earn both a diploma and college credits at the same time – at no cost.
