Partnerships Turn Forsyth Tech Classrooms Into Careers
Strong, intentional partnerships multiply the impact of higher education. At Forsyth Tech we cultivate relationships that supply mentorship, equipment, experiential learning and financial support so students graduate prepared for work and civic life.
We partner with Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. in many ways, but a particularly meaningful part of that partnership came to light over the last academic year with the Senior Academy. This program helps high school students become career-ready. It uses mentorship to guide students, helps them develop skills like communication and résumé writing, and connects them with local professionals and opportunities. Students that complete the program gain pre-acceptance into Forsyth Tech to continue their education.

Workforce Wednesday is our weekly bridge between classroom and employer. Local companies come on campus to share expectations and co-design short-term projects. Those sessions accelerate hiring pipelines and give faculty timely employer feedback, so that courses align with real needs.

Industry partners such as Arbor Acres and Pepsi Bottling Ventures invest in applied training and equipment that mirror workplace standards. Students gain familiarity with current machinery safety protocols and production workflows which shortens onboarding time for employers and raises student confidence.
A collaboration with Wake Forest University gives motorcycle students the rare chance to maintain the Demon Deacon motorcycle, providing hands-on experience and public visibility.
Our athletics staff partnered with the Special Olympics, modeling inclusion in action, and Gwyn Tools for the Trade scholarships remove financial barriers to skilled careers. Together, these relationships strengthen community and workforce readiness.
